D&I Backlash — A Playbook for Women Leadership

To fight back against Trump’s war on diversity, use Victoria Riess’ four-step playbook to foster diversity and inclusion, women in leadership and female leadership

1. Equality in the workplace

Women continue to be severely under-represented in top management positions: 26 percent women on the management boards and 40 percent on supervisory boards. This shows the need for action in Germany.

2. Women in leadership

Supportive measures are needed on the part of policymakers and the companies themselves, as well as a change in society’s awareness and role: compatibility of work and family, new leadership culture, new female and male role models.

3. Female leadership

Studies show that it is actually women who have what it takes to effectively lead. So, rather than advising female executives to act more like men to get ahead, society would be better served by more male leaders trying to emulate women.

4. Call to action

Research confirms that diverse teams have a positive impact on business success and share price. Investors see the importance of diversity for good corporate governance. So executive management must align with diversity as ‘tone from the top’.

Take action for women leadership to fight back against the DEI backlash!
